Camp Tioga just wound down another awesome summer! We can’t say enough about how proud we are of all of our campers for stepping outside of their comfort zones, making new friends and growing and maturing. And we’re not the only ones who feel this way! Our campers have said that they love the sense of family here and that they’re already counting down the days until next summer!

But don't just take our word for it! See what our campers are saying about Camp Tioga in the reviews below.

"The Summer of your life-- I thought that was going to be a classic American all thumbs up and smiles over exaggeration. Turns out it wasn't at all. If anything it's an extremely modest description of a fantastic family feeling Summer Camp.  A community without prejudice that concentrates solely on the enjoyment of the campers and led by an incredible team that allows the staff to have just as much fun. You make family at Camp Tioga, I've never had so much constant fun. It’s highly recommended. I had the summer of my life." - Jake

Safety At Camp Tioga

Here at Camp Tioga, we take safety very seriously! Sure, we love to have fun, but not at the expense of someone possibly getting hurt. Parents can rest assured knowing that safety is our first and foremost priority. Here are reasons why parents can entrust their children to us:

Our Camper To Counselor Ratio:
At Camp Tioga, we provide a camper to counselor ratio of 3:1. Campers live in bunks with their counselors who provide constant supervision. Every child is accounted for at all times.

Medical Staff:
Our highly trained, caring medical staff is on duty at all times. We have four licensed RN’s, a camp doctor, in addition to our employees being fully trained in First-Aid and CPR. Our infirmary is always stocked with all necessary medications and medical supplies, including oxygen and automatic external defibrillators. We are also a completely nut-free facility, so parents of children with nut allergies need not worry! Our medical staff personally contacts each family that joins us prior to the summer, and familiarizes themselves with the medical history of every camper.

Safety Rating:
Our camp earned the rating of “ One of the Safest Camps in America” by the A.M Skier Agency. We exhibit a commitment to safety where our incredible staff is always on top of our campers.
Do you want your children to have one of the most fun summers of their life, in a safe and nurturing environment? Camp Tioga is the answer! Give us a call at 516-938-0894 or visit us on our website to learn more.

"Thank you so much for a great day!!!  Even through the rain and the mud slides the sun was shining on Tioga.  My kids are truly so happy.  It was great to walk around with them and be introduced to their world. It is amazing to see they have a life outside of ours. The friendships they are making, and the experiences they are living will follow them throughout their life.  That is PRICELESS!!!!!"

How Camp Teaches Children the Importance of Teamwork

Did you know that our activities involve constant collaboration with others? At Camp Tioga, we believe that learning how to work within a team is a lifelong skill. Below are some ways we emphasize teamwork to our campers.

There's No "I" In Team
When children attend school, they are focused on their own education. They do not need to work in tandem with their peers in order to succeed. However, that is not how it is in the real world. It is imperative to work well in a team and be a team player. At Camp Tioga, we realize that teamwork makes the dream work!

Cooperation
In a group setting, there will be different personalities and different perspectives. Children need to take these things into consideration when working together. At camp, they will learn how to cooperate with one another to achieve a common goal.

If you want your child to be a team player, the solution is clear--enroll your child at Camp Tioga! Call 516-938-0894 today to reserve your spot.

The Health Benefits of Spending Time in the Great Outdoors

With all of the technology available today, some children spend almost all of their time indoors. They can play their games from the comfort of their homes. However, children need to spend more time outside. It will help them disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature. Below are the health benefits associated with outdoor play.

Easy on the Eyes
Starting at a screen for hours on end can really take its toll on your eyes. Luckily, spending time outside can actually improve your vision. Best of all, children will be able to appreciate the nature's beauty.

A Stress Reliever
It is no secret that everyone experiences stress. Even children get stressed out! Studies show that spending time in the great outdoors is a good stress reliever for children.

Social Skills
Some children are active on social media. Playing outside with one another does not require a friend request. Instead, they will learn how to develop social skills by interacting with one another.

Are you searching for a place to help your child develop an appreciation for nature? Look no further than Camp Tioga! To enroll in our camp, email info@camptioga.com or give us a call at 516-938-0894.

Why You Should Send Your Child To Sleepaway Camp

At one point or another, you may have wondered, "should I send my child to overnight camp?" The answer is yes! Below are some reasons why going to camp is a worthwhile experience.

Great Option For Working Parents
If both parents work, you may not have anyone to watch your child during the week. Hiring a babysitter for the entire summer can be costly. Camp can solve this problem for you. At Camp Tioga, we have a camper to staff ratio better than 3 to 1. This ensures that your child will be supervised at all times.

Children Develop Confidence
At Camp Tioga, we believe that all children should feel good about themselves. Are you worried about your child's confidence? If so, camp is the perfect place to work on it. After all, we offer plenty of sports and activities that kids can excel at. Mastering a new skill can do wonders for a child's self esteem.

Reconnecting With The Great Outdoors
It is important for children to get outdoors and play. However, this is difficult for children who live in urban areas. Camp Tioga is located in the incredible Endless Mountain region of Pennsylvania. We have a state-of-the-art campus that is situated on 110 scenic acres. With that kind of outdoor space, your child will enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest extent.

Are you thinking of sending your son or daughter to sleepaway camp next year? If so, choose Camp Tioga. We are confident that Camp Tioga is the right fit for any child. This is due to our superior staff, picturesque grounds and the 80 activities we offer. For an in-depth look at what Camp Tioga has to offer, take a look at our website or call 516-938-0894 for more information.

Camp Prepares Kids for the Real World

There is no denying that children learn a lot of information at school. Does school prepare students for the real world? Camp covers topics and skills that schools do not address. Below are some of the things camp teaches kids about the real world.

Teamwork
At school, you are focused on yourself and your education. That is not the case at camp. There is a saying that teamwork makes the dream work and we couldn't agree more! In the real world, you will be working with a team or department within a company.

Decision Making
There are certain classes you must take in school in order to move up a grade or even graduate. Again, this is not true for our happy campers. In fact, campers are encouraged to pick and choose their activities. They are learning how to make decisions based on their likes and dislikes. It is important to be decisive in the real world

Overcoming Obstacles
Nowadays, most kids live a pretty comfortable life. While this is a good thing, it also does not challenge kids to overcome obstacles. At Camp Tioga, our campers try new things and in the process, learn how to conquer their fears. In the real world, you will discover new things that scare you. Your camp days will remind you how to handle these situations.

Allowing your child to keep developing while not in the classroom each summer is important. A great way to allow children to keep developing is to sign them up for summer camp. At Camp Tioga, your child can continue to grow as a person while having fun on their summer break. For an in-depth look at what Camp Tioga has to offer take a look at our website or call 570-756-2660 for more information.
