Camp Prepares Kids for the Real World

There is no denying that children learn a lot of information at school. Does school prepare students for the real world? Camp covers topics and skills that schools do not address. Below are some of the things camp teaches kids about the real world.

Teamwork
At school, you are focused on yourself and your education. That is not the case at camp. There is a saying that teamwork makes the dream work and we couldn't agree more! In the real world, you will be working with a team or department within a company.

Decision Making
There are certain classes you must take in school in order to move up a grade or even graduate. Again, this is not true for our happy campers. In fact, campers are encouraged to pick and choose their activities. They are learning how to make decisions based on their likes and dislikes. It is important to be decisive in the real world

Overcoming Obstacles
Nowadays, most kids live a pretty comfortable life. While this is a good thing, it also does not challenge kids to overcome obstacles. At Camp Tioga, our campers try new things and in the process, learn how to conquer their fears. In the real world, you will discover new things that scare you. Your camp days will remind you how to handle these situations.

Allowing your child to keep developing while not in the classroom each summer is important. A great way to allow children to keep developing is to sign them up for summer camp. At Camp Tioga, your child can continue to grow as a person while having fun on their summer break.
