How To Stay Physically Active When Camp Is Not In Session

When your child attends Camp Tioga, they will definitely stay active! What happens when the summer ends? Your child doesn't have to lead a sedentary life. Below are some ways you can encourage your child to be physically active when camp is not in session.
  • If your children do have electronic devices of their own, limit their screen time.
  • Encourage your child to spend more time in the great outdoors.
  • Let your child play with kites, jump ropes, basketballs and soccer balls.
  • Restrict the amount of time your child can watch television.
  • Teach your child to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Ask your child if they are interested in joining a sports team at school.
  • Go on a walk with your child after dinner.
  • Take your child to the park on a weekly basis.
Looking for a sleepaway camp that will keep your child active all day long? If so, choose Camp Tioga! We offer more than 80 activities such as sports, drama, crafts, nature, swimming, and boating.
